In our last blog, we kicked off the two-part series with blog #1, focusing on contracts and questions to ask yourself when considering an equipment maintenance contract.

This week we are going to dive into the five common misconceptions of maintenance contracts, as well as the facts about how an equipment maintenance program works.

5 Common Misconceptions

  1. Loyalty in Exchange for Good Service. You feel obligated to purchase a premium service package to ensure you get “good service.”
  2. Priority Service. If you buy the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) service contract, you feel you will be put at the top of the list when you call for service and will receive faster response times.
  3. You feel the OEM is the only option available for service because they produced the equipment.
  4. Technician Skill Level. You feel the OEM technicians are the only ones qualified to maintain and repair the equipment.
  5. You can cancel your manufacturer service contract anytime without a penalty.

If you have heard some of the above misconceptions, then get the facts now regarding equipment maintenance programs.  And, get a complimentary infographic that compares myth to fact.
