Fall Dove’s Nest Drive 2012

November 20, 2012, This year’s annual fall drive benefited Dove’s Nest, the Charlotte Rescue Mission’s brand new women’s program. During the two-week competition, employees were encouraged by their team captains to bring in as many items as possible off the facility’s needs list. History repeated itself and once again, Remi employees rose to the challenge. The winning team brought in 2,511 items alone; as a company, a donation of 7,355 items was made to the women and children at Dove’s Nest! Compared to the similar drive in 2010, the company donated more than two-and-a-half times as many items.

August 3, 2012, Remi held the 3rd Annual School Supplies Drive to benefit Classroom Central in an effort to help underprivileged students in six school districts throughout Charlotte and surrounding cities.

June 18, 2012, Remi sponsored a Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon for the employees who donated their time delivering meals for Friendship Trays to the handicapped and elderly who can no longer prepare their own meals.

April 27, 2012, Remi participated in a charity dodge ball tournament sponsored by Community Matters: Insurance Partners of Charlotte to benefit United Family Services. Brent Howison, Brian Landon, Mike Van Derveer, and Tommy Beecher represented Remi for the CODE RED team.

April 1, 2012, Remi sponsored a fundraising event, Benevolent Beards, to benefit Levine Children's Hospital's Nephrology Division. Fundraising efforts contributed to the $20,000 donation and established a special needs fund named after the company, Remi Children's Fund. Charlotte Rescue Mission Food Drive 2011

November 30, 2011, Remi held its 3rd Annual Food Drive competition to benefit the Charlotte Rescue Mission. The teams of employees were encouraged to bring in the Mission's most needed non-perishable food items throughout the month of November. Remi employees' generosity has never been greater or more evident. In total, the company collected a staggering 3,112.82 pounds of non-perishables. That's a ton and a half of food donated to help replenish the Charlotte Rescue Mission's pantry.

School Supplies Drive 2011

July 30, 2011, During the Color the Park School Supplies Drive of 2011, the goal of Ballantyne Corporate Park - home to Remi's headquarters - was to collect 15,000 packs of markers to benefit Classroom Central. In an effort to support the local community, Remi employees participated in a friendly competition between home office departments. Employees were divided up in to four teams and the team with the most packs of markers won a free PTO day. As a result of the employees' generosity, Remi collected 1,000 packs of markers that will be donated to Classroom Central as part of Ballantyne Corporate Park's donation.

Dog Rescue Drive 2011

February 21, 2011, Remi held a fundraiser to benefit the Great Dane Rescue of the Carolinas. The title is deceiving though, as the Rescue helps all sizes and all breeds of dogs. Since their current population is over 100 dogs, it is expensive to feed, house, and provide medical care to all the dogs. The Rescue is in desperate need of basic necessities. As a company, Remi stepped up to the challenge and donated many items from their wish list.

February 18, 2011, Remi participated in its 2nd Annual Blood Drive to help support the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas. Thank you to all of the employees who participated and took the time to donate blood. Every single unit donated can save up to three people's lives. The generosity of Remi blood donors was paid forward ~ for every unit of blood donated, the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas donated six pounds of food to the Second Harvest Food Bank in Charlotte, NC.

December 17, 2010, Remi employees participated in a friendly holiday-inspired competition between home office departments. The goal was to bring in as many food items as possible throughout the month of December to help stock the Charlotte Rescue Mission’s pantry shelves this holiday season. Remi donated a total of 2,853 food items! As a company of 80 employees, it’s an overwhelming amount of food to be collected and donated. Because of the event’s huge success, the food drive will be an annual event.

August 17, 2010, the Remi office participated in the Ballantyne Corporate Park’s Classroom Central School Drive this year. This year the park’s challenge was “Color the Park” and the goal was to collect over 7,000 packs of markers. Donations were accepted from August 4th through August 11th. Along with the markers, we also collected notebooks, glue, crayons, colored pencils, and much more! Classroom Central is a local organization that provides more than 14,000 disadvantaged students with school supplies each fall.

Community Blood Drive 2010

July 16, 2010, Remi participated in our first blood drive to help support the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas. We had 11 employees participate and take the time to donate blood. Every single unit donated can save up to three people. The Community Blood Center of the Carolinas is an independent, locally-managed, non-profit community blood center. They provide more than 90 percent of the blood supply to the 14 area hospitals that serve 11 North Carolina and 3 South Carolina counties.


 

Toys for Tots 2009

December 15, 2009, During the holiday season, the Remi staff collected and donated over 50 toys to the Toys for Tots organization. Remi collected an assortment of toys for all ages spanning from games and stuffed animals to toys that inspire learning and sophisticated battery pack gadgets. Toys for Tots was established in 1947 and is operated by the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Over the years, Toys for Tots have provided more than 400 million toys to more than 188 million children.

 


 

Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 2009

October 3rd, 2009, Remi participated in the Race for the Cure in Charlotte, NC. The event began at 7:55 AM and was a noncompetitive 5k run/walk. Overall, there were 14,000 participants for the 13th annual event. All funds from the Komen Race for the Cure go to research, education, screening, and treatment programs.


 

Lance Armstrong's 24 Hours of Booty 2009

The 24 Hours of Booty bike ride was held July 24-25th, 2009. It began on Friday night at 7:00 PM and lasted until 7:00 PM on Saturday. It is an annual 24 hour cycling event that increases public awareness and support for cancer research and programs. It was a 3 mile loop around Queens College in Charlotte. Nationally, this event raises money for the Lance Armstrong Cancer Foundation. It also raises money locally for Carolina Medical's cancer research.

 


 

Operation Christmas Child 2008

December 10th, 2008, twelve employees from Remi volunteered at the Operation Christmas Child (OCC) Processing Center in Charlotte to sort and check collected boxes. This is the third consecutive year that our employees have participated. Operation Christmas Child collects shoe box gifts and delivers them to children all around the world who are suffering from natural disaster, war, terrorism, poverty, and famine. Since 1993 the project has hand-delivered more than 47 million shoe boxes to 120 countries around the world.


 

Charlotte Rescue Mission Food Drive 2008

This year Remi collected 1,708 non-perishable items for the food drive! We were very pleased by the participation of our company, especially knowing the food we collected will help those hurting during these hard times. The Charlotte Rescue Mission is a Christian recovery program. Their mission is to address all aspects of addiction and return the homeless to society as contributing members.
